Abstract

Abstract

Tham Tam was one of the few writers who wrote children literature before the August Revolution of 1945. Tham Tam's children stories are traditional but still modern, very unique, and make a unique expression in the writer's style of composition. The article explores the traditional and modern nature of Tham Tam's children narratives through the examination of several aspects of contents and art, thus contributing to clarifying Tham Tam's prose literary values for Vietnamese children literature in particular, with Vietnamese literature of the first half of the twentieth century in general.

Keywords: Tham Tam, children's stories, Vietnamese literature, tradition, modern.
