Some problems of Islamism in the present day social life

Abstract

At present, most of countries in the world use the term Islam to call the religion founded by Mohammed in the earlier VII century in West Arab. Only in Vietnam people still use the appellation originating from name of an ethnic minority in China to call this religion – Religion of Hui. The author proposes to change to appellation to be conformed to the international practice. The author cites many data from different source to demonstrate the rapid development of Islamism in the late XX century and the first years of XXI century. The focus of this article is on the conception of a number of religio–political organizations of Islamism, especially the Muslim Brotherhood, The Jihad; the economic conception on Islamist economists, sociologist, publicists, especially Abd-al Halim Hifagi. In short, Islamism is not a pure religion but it bound to socio – political and economic problem. It is a very complex and various world. Full text in Vietnamese Religious Studies 2005/3 pp.56-67
