Abstract

In this paper, we are investigated the mechanical strength of the plates with circular cut-out, as the ratio of plate width to hole diameter (B/d) has a significant influences on the structural integrity of the structures. Through a series of tensile simulations under static loading conditions using the Finite Element Method (FEM), the stress distribution around the cut-out regions of the plates was determined. Finally, the influence of dimensional parameters on the maximum stress within the plates was evaluated. The findings of this study provide valuable insights for the design and optimization of structural components with various cut-out shapes in future engineering applications.
