Abstract

This paperpresents the research results on the effects of temperature (0C), and washing cycle (number of washes) on the stretch and stretch recovery of cotton knitted fabrics in the knitted fabric loop direction. Applying BMA (Bayesian Model Average) techniques on R software to process and analyze results. The results are built based on a multivariable linear model with two input variables of temperature and washing cycle. From the analysis results, it is shown that stretch and stretch recovery of cotton knitted fabrics are greatly affected by temperature and humidity with coefficient R2 = 0.83 ÷ 0.93  knitted fabric loop direction. Washing temperature of 200C and 1 washing cycle gives the best stretch recovery ability of the fabric. The more the temperature and washing cycle are increased, the more stretch recovery of the fabric will decrease. With a temperature of 950C and 15 washing cycles, the recovery ability will decrease. The relaxation of the fabric at 1 minute, 1 hour, 12 hours and 24 hours decreased significantly.
