Abstract

A decade after the financial crisis 2008-2009, the value of the U.S. dollar has sharply increased. The U.S. Dollar Index (USDX) has risen by more than 25 points compared to its record low in March 2008, which makes it stronger in relation to the other currencies in the world market. Based on analyzing the volatility of the U.S. dollar in the period of 2008-2018 and the context of the current global economy, the article makes a forecast about its trends in the short term.
