Abstract

Since 2014, statements by Russian officials and President Vladimir Putin regarding Moscow’s policy toward Ukraine have suggested the emergence of a new doctrine on Russia’s foreign and security policy, especially in relation to the post-Soviet space. Researchers have more or less summarized and concluded some basic elements of this Putin doctrine/Putinism, in which the most prominent are: imperial worldview (centralized state), anti-Western conservative spirit, and religious factor (the Orthodox). This paper reviews domestic and foreign documents that contribute to clarifying the above issues.
