Abstract

Hai Phong culture is an integral part of the Northeastern coastal sub-region culture and is reflected in many different facets, including Mother Goddess worship or, more broadly, the Goddess worship. Typically in the Goddess worship, the custom of worshiping female General Le Chan is one of Hai Phong residents’ spiritual features. The article presents the origin of the worship custom, the location of worship, its rituals and values in the life of the local residents. On that basic, it proposes some solutions to preserve and promote the value of this belief in the current context.
