Abstract

While Buddhism was introduced and survived in the mountainous regions of Northern Vietnam over many centuries through many different ways, it has not yet developed strongly and stably in the ethnic communities therein. The article presents the history of Buddhism’s introduction to the mountainous regions of Northern Vietnam, its operation, the current status of Buddhist life and the causes, difficulties and challenges for the development of Buddhism in this area.
