Climate Finance: Solutions from Some Countries and Implications for Vietnam

Abstract

Climate change has been causing negative impacts on most countries worldwide and requires huge financial resources to respond. Greater climate financing is proven to be the most effective mechanism to mitigate climate risks, preventing serious economic, social and environmental consequences that threaten the lives and livelihoods of millions, even billions, of people globally. The article outlines the concept and role of climate finance; select some climate finance solutions in Singapore, China and Japan to draw experience for Vietnam in its efforts to effectively attract and diversify financial sources to respond to climate change.
