Abstract

The modernization process has profoundly influenced the traditional cultural practices of Vietnam’s ethnic minority communities, particularly their festivals. This paper analyzes the primary role of the La Chí people in sustaining the Tết Khu Cù Tê festival in Hà Giang Province. Based on field surveys, in-depth interviews, and participant observation, the study reveals that the La Chí community maintains the festival through collective traditions and intergenerational learning, thereby ensuring its continuity. The findings illuminate a community-driven model of cultural preservation grounded in internal resilience and provide empirical insights for policy-making toward sustainable, community-based festival conservation.
