Building a Database on the Culture of Ethnic Minorities in Vietnam: A Museological Perspective

Abstract

Ethnic minorities in Vietnam retain their own rich, distinct and unique cultures. However, the research, collection and database building on the cultural heritage of these ethnic group have been done in a restricted, inconsistent and unsystematic way. Moreover, the application of information technology in the research, collection, classification, storage and exploitation is also inadequate. Therefore, choosing appropriate solutions to build a modern database for sustainable conservation and development of the culture of ethnic minorities in Vietnam is a necessary requirement in the current cultural context.
