Abstract

Mental health care for pupils is a crucial aspect of child care, protection and education. Recent studies have raised awareness of the importance of several mental health problems related to Vietnamese pupils. Part of the educational triangle formed by family, school and society which performs a significant function in childcare, protection and education, schools should pay close attention to pupils’ mental health care. Psychological problems and difficulties in pupils’ life must be explored, consulted, shared and resolved in due time to avoid bad behaviors and consequences, which might affect children’s personality growth and development. Schools also need to implement parallel solutions to improve pupils’ spiritual and emotional life. The paper presents a literature review of Vietnamese pupils’ mental health and ongoing initiatives implemented by schools.
