The changes of the Hanoian language during Renewal period: the influence of European and North American languages from a vocabulary standpoint

The industrialization and modernization of State and Communist Party as well as the opening and integration with world has significantly changed the social and cultural life of Vietnam during the 20 years of reformation. One of them is the changes of languages due to the usages of foreign languages in Vietnamese and in big cities as a communication tool. The article is a proof of the changes of Hanoi language, especially the aspect of vocabulary affected by Western and American languages, based on the references in the newspaper which represent for the voice of Hanoi people - New Hanoi newspaper.
