Vietnam’s Economy in 2019: Situation, Risks, and Prospects for 2020

Abstract

Vietnam in 2019 achieved many positive economic results. In 2020, however, it is projected that the country would face both internal and external challenges, particularly under the negative impacts of the Covid-19 outbreak. In order to succeed the 2020 socio-economic development targets, the government of Vietnam in parallel with resolving internal economic issues needs to implement synchronous solutions for strengthening the macroeconomic environment and enhancing the economy’s resistance and resilience against unpredictable external shocks.
