Developing the Southern Economic Zone of Ho Chi Minh City

The paper analyzes the current situation of the southern area of Ho Chi Minh City in terms of criteria for developing an economic zone. Our data 1 were collected following the criteria defined in the project “Determining eligible localities to develop special administrative-economic zone master plans in Vietnam” by the Ministry of Planning and Investment in 2013. Based on the analysis, the paper proposes several solutions for the development of the southern economic zone in Ho Chi Minh City.
