Database and Big Data - the Key Values in Developing the Digital Economy

In the transition period to digital government, digital economy, and digital society to create new breakthroughs in economic growth and development, increase competitiveness and improve quality of life, databases, which have grown into big data, play an important part in determining success. This article analyzes the role of databases and big data in developing the digital economy from both macro and micro perspectives, at the same time collecting evidence on the experiences of China and South Korea in the build-up, management and operation of their digital economies based on databases and big data. From the evidence provided, we develop recommendations for Vietnam with regards to promoting digital transition and building the foundations for the digital economy.
