This paper presents the Generalized Minimum Moment Algorithm (GMMA) as a resource-leveling technique for projects with a fixed duration and unlimited resources. The algorithm consists of two main calculation steps: the forward pass and the backward pass. During each pass, jobs are selected and moved from a set of tasks within the same sequence step to optimize the improvement factor to minimize the moment of the resource histogram. To showcase the effectiveness and practicality of the algorithm, a numerical example is provided. The results clearly show that the GMMA is a highly practical and computationally efficient tool for resource balancing in construction projects.
