Analysis of factors leading to delay progress of road construction in Bạc Liêu province

Abstract

There have been a number of studies on the causes and causes of the delay in the construction progress of traffic construction in Vietnam, but these studies only focus mainly on assessing the influence of these factors. Particularly for public investment projects, the use of budget capital is still limited and especially for traffic works in Bac Lieu province, no research has been carried out, evaluated. This study has identified 35 causes leading to delay progress of road construction in Bạc Liêu province, through the analysis, it shows that there are 28 causes which were distributed in 06 major groups of factors: (1) “objective personnel”, (2) "Unforeseen problems in construction process", (3) "Problems related to create clear construction site", (4) "Incompetence, experience of relevant parties in construction process”, (5) “The contractor’s resources are not enough”, (6) “The weakness of the progress management capacity and the lack of responsibility of the Investor" is the cause of the delay in construction progress of traffic works in Bac Lieu Province's . Based on the results of factor analysis, the study also proposes some solutions to limit the causes of delay in construction progress of traffic works in Bac Lieu Province.
