Land encroachment and land dispute in forestry companies in Dak Nong province and some solutions.

Abstract

Land relations in the Central Highlands are a prominent issue that has always been paid close attention by the Party and State over the past few decades. Up to now, although the situation has been relatively stable, in some localities there are still conflicts that need to be resolved. As a matter of fact, land disputes have negatively impacted on the implementation of ethnic policies on socio-economic development and security in several places. Land encroachment and land disputes between local ethnic minorities or ethnic minority immigrants and forestry companies in Dak Nong province are also under these influences. The foremost reasons are the limited function of forestry companies in handling violations and their loose management; ethnic minority people’s limited understanding of the Land Law which leads to land encroachment;increasing strain from socio-economic development on land resources; and pressure from free-migration and population growth;… On the basis of analysing the current situation and finding out the causes of land encroachment in forestry companies in Dak Nong province, this paper proposes some solutions to contribute to ensuring the goals of socio-economic development and political stability in the coming time.
