Some cultural changes of the protestants in the border region of Muong Nhe district, (Dien Bien province) and Ia Glai district (Gia Lai province)

Abstract

In recent years, protestants have witnessed many changes, especially in cultural aspects of their lives. They have become more aware and supportive of the government's policies as they are able to follow their religious belief and practices and maintain good secularity simultaneously. This article aims to portray the lives of the protestants in Dien Bien and Gia Lai province. It presents the strengths and weaknesses of the cultural life of the protestants and explores the common ground between the government and the protestant church, and between protestants and atheists in the North-West border region and the Central Highland in the contemporary context.
