Social network analysis in the world.

Abstract

Social network analysis has been practiced by many foreign scholars because of its usefulness in accomplishing socio economic development goals. This article reviews some achievements of social network studies in the world in order to highlight the approach, theory, and methodology. In this approach, there is structural and non-structural analysis, and internal and external network approaches. For the theory, there are core network and flowing network models, structural, functional and process theories. Amongst a variety of methodological approaches, relation typology and network mapping methods are noted.
