Abstract

The Brau are one of 14 ethnic groups with a population of fewer than 10,000
people in Vietnam today. They are concentrated at the Indochina junction, in the border area
of Kon Tum province. Although the community historically had a very small population, the
Brau people had a unique culture, including distinctive living spaces and traditional social
structures. This article analyzes the transformation of the Brau people's traditional
residential spaces and village institutions to provide more information about the history of
this ethnic group and to identify positive aspects of their traditional social culture. The goal is
to preserve and inherit these values in modern society.
