Tho Ha Ancient Village Culture: Values and Issues Raised

Abstract

Tho Ha village, located in Van Ha commune, Viet Yen town, Bac Giang province, is a village that still retains many typical features of Kinh Bac countryside with a complex of ancient and unique architecture, relics and landscapes, serving the cultural and religious needs of local people and visitors from near and far area. The article is based on field data, retrospective investigations, documents engraved on ancient steles, and statistics from local authorities through a number of surveys in 2024 in Tho Ha village to clarify the system of tangible and intangible cultural heritages in the research area, analyze the typical values of these heritages. On that basis, the article discusses a number of issues arising in the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage values of Tho Ha today.
