RELIGIOUS WORLD OUTLOOK AND HUMAN VALUES IN THE HRE’S HOME

Abstract

Religious world outlook plays a significant role in establishing the production and living space. The lifestyle of the Hre in Quang Ngai province of Vietnam is in harmony with the natural environment. The home of the Hre contains cultural and religious symbols and values that are traditional and original. The economic and social transformation process is the cause of change in the architecture and form of the home. Therefore, cultural significance of the home changed. This paper discovers characteristics of religious world outlook and human values in the home of the Hre, thereby aiming to explain the original features and cultural and belief values associated with the home. These findings are a new contribution to the role of the religious world outlook of the traditional home (stilt home) in the living of the Hre communities. At the same time, they reflect new dynamics in constructing material and spiritual life and affecting to perspectives and ritual practices of the Hre in the contemporary social context.
