Abstract

Am Vai is an ancient Buddhist temple, belonging to the system of pagodas and stupas of Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhism. According to a legend that a princess of the Tran dynasty came to practice there. Experiencing changes in history and due to the impact of nature, the Buddhist temple has been destroyed, and the ancient traces have almost gone. Currently, it just has a stupa, which is physical proof of Buddhist practices. Therefore, research on the origin of the temple is a difficult task. The brief records of the history of the Nguyen Dynasty are an important basis for understanding more about Am Vai Buddhist temple. Based on the data from field surveys and various documents, the article initially presents the chronology of its stupa to understand the history of the Buddhist temple.
