Cham ethnic music heritage in An Giang in current sustainable development

Abstract

An Giang's Cham ethnic music is a cultural heritage that reflects the identity of the Cham Muslim community. It encompasses a range of cultural values, from traditional to modern, and was created by the Cham people. Despite its significance, Cham Islam's musical heritage has not received enough attention, exploitation, and research. It is crucial to conduct research in order to preserve and restore this valuable cultural heritage. This article aims to synthesize and analyze documents and fieldwork activities within the Cham community to identify the characteristics of musical cultural values of the Cham people in An Giang. This includes examining musical genres and instruments. The article also proposes solutions for preserving the Cham ethnic musical heritage, with a focus on sustainable development.
