Abstract

The trade of exotic species is rapidly increasing in Vietnam, driven by the demand for ornamental pets among the younger generation. However, this surge in trading poses significant risks to Vietnam's ecosystem, as many rare flora and fauna species are being threatened. Through an analysis of the environmental risks associated with the trade of non-native species, this study highlighted the the legal issues that must be addressed in order to control this trade and protect the environment in Vietnam.
