Abstract

Reading is one of the most important habits of lifelong learning. In the world of visual and social media, the world is growing rapidly, changing both economic forms and countless habits of people, especially urban people; reading - as a habit, as a behavior, as an intrinsic need has changed. Why reading is always a concern of the Vietnamese intellectuals? The paper explain the issues that based on inference and surveys on the actual reading practices of children today, the use of audio-visual equippment, technology equippment and reading rate; the rate of refractive errors affecting reading... Accordingly, the article has sections: reading in Vietnamese tradition; the situation of children's reading today; comments/discussions.
