Abstract
Bac Lieu is a region that has strongly developed the art of “đờn ca tài tử,” associated
with the name of the late musician and composer Cao Van Lau contributing to the
formation of two subsequent genres: “vọng cổ” and “cải lương.” Therefore, Bac Lieu
province needs to pay more attention to preserving and promoting the value of the
intangible cultural heritage of this art form, which contributes to attracting tourists both
from within and outside the province and to developing the province’s socio-economic
conditions.
