The potential of weighted graph models for household solid waste collection route optimization: a case study in Son Tra, Danang
Keywords
Abstract
This study focuses on the potential of household solid waste collection route optimization by weighted graph models: a case study in Son Tra, Danang. 153 out of 247 collection routes were surveyed by GPS equipment, and then digitized by QGIS to analyze parameters such as length, velocity, and time. From the GIS data, a weighted graph of the distance of each route is constructed to optimize the collection route. The results show that, the application of a weighted graph model to optimize the travel route helps the length of the collection route after optimization to have an average value of 1.9 ± 0.2 km, lower than 5% - 17% compared to the actual distance of 2.4 ± 0.3 km. The Paired sample t-Test results showed that the difference is statistically significant.
