Research and proposal sustainable drainage solutions for urban area in Dong Hoi city

Abstract

The article presents solutions to design urban rainwater drainage sustainably. On that basis, we apply several solutions to the design of a sustainable rainwater drainage system for Dong Bac urban area, Huu Nghi Street, Dong Hoi City. Calculation results show that, applying sustainable drainage design solutions will effectively minimize local flooding and reduce pressure on the built traditional drainage system. In addition, it can supplement natural groundwater sources, improve urban landscapes, etc. Sustainable urban drainage is a drainage system considered beneficial to the environment, including strategic solutions for effective and sustainable surface water drainage, control of building structures, and operational management, while minimizing pollution and managing impacts on the water quality of local water bodies.
