The electrocardiogram survey of 728 athletes of the national team at rest showed many
different characteristics compared with the ECG in normal people (p>0.05). Specifically, the indicators
in male and female are as follows respectively: 1) Heart rate is 61bpm and 62bpm, a normal person is
75bpm; 2) The cardiac axis (angle α) tends to deviate to the left by α = 590 and α = 610, compared with
= 650; 3) P wave: mean duration is (96 ms and 94 ms, versus 80 ms); average amplitudes are (14.4mm
and 13.9mm, compared to 12mm); 4) The average PR segment time is 177ms and 167ms, compared to
150ms; 5) QRS complex: mean time 78ms and female 74ms, compared to 70ms; The Sokolow index
31.1 ± 4.2 mm and 30.7 ± 4.4 mm, compared to <35mm; 6) T wave amplitude: young male athletes,
male athletes, female athletes and young female athletes are 6.3±1.9 mm, 8.7±2.6 mm, 8.5±2.9 mm
and 6,4±1,6 mm compared to 6, respectively, up to 12mm; 7) The QT interval in young male athletes,
male athletes, female athletes and young female athletes were 359± 0 ms, 366± 6ms, 63±15 ms and
379±13ms, compared with 0.36s in men and 0.37s in women; The QTc interval in young male athletes,
male athletes, young female athletes and female athletes was 417 ± 8 ms, 437 ± 9 ms, 424 ± 9 ms and
455 ± 8.5 ms, compared with normal people: QTc is >440ms in men or >460ms in women. Gender and
exercise time affect EKG characteristics: 1) The mean QTc interval in men is 437 ± 9 ms and 455 ±
8.5ms in women, compared with normal men <440ms and female <460ms; 2) The QTc interval in male
athletes is shorter than in female athletes: male athletes are 437 ± 9 ms; young male athletes is 417 ± 8
ms; female athletes is 442 ± 8 ms and young female athletes is 424 ± 9 ms; T wave amplitude in male
athletes is 8.7 ± 2.6 mm; female athletes is 8.0 ± 2.9 mm.
