THE REALITY OF NURSING PRACTICE ENVIRONMENT AND LEVEL OF NURSES' BURNOUT IN THE DEPARTMENTS AT SIX HOSPITALS HO CHI MINH CITY

Abstract
The nurses working at 6 hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City (N = 540) participated and completed questionnaires on nursing practice environment (Nursing work index, NWI) and burnout (Maslach burnout inventory, BMI). The result of the level of awareness of the general caring practice environment was 3.87/5 (±0.67). Perceptions of occupational burnout in three areas: Perception of moderate and high levels of occupational burnout accounts for 68.5%; Perceived personal achievement was 98.5%; Negative attitudes account for 46.7%. The analysis shows that if the caring practice environment is favorable, the expected level of burnout will decrease (p < 0.05)
