Abstract

The pairwise sequence alignment problem is a basic problem in biology to find similar functional characteristics or individual properties between sequences and measure the similarity between sequences. Applying the pairwise S sequence alignment problem of each variant of BA.2.12.1 and BA.1-5 with the original sequence, BA.2.12.1 sublineage has 33 mutations on the surface glycoprotein, of which 17 mutations are on the RBD (receptor binding domain). The specific mutations S371F, L452Q and Q493R on the RBD make BA.2.12.1 more infectious and increase antibody resistance
