Abstract

Currently, Japan is facing a serious labor shortage due to its aging population; therefore, importing labor from abroad is very necessary. However, issues surrounding
immigrants are causing concern among the Japanese public. Recently, the new Prime Minister,b Sanae Takaichi, took office and pledged to tighten immigration policies. The Vietnamese community in Japan needs to find an appropriate direction in this new context in order to be better accepted and integrated, especially as a number of individuals have violated Japan’s public security and order, negatively affecting the overall image of Vietnamese people.
