AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING SOME PROVISIONS OF THE CRIMINAL PROCEDURE LAW OF VIETNAM ON CRIMINAL CASES INVOLVING FOREIGN SUSPECTS AND DEFENDANTS

Abstract

To accurately and objectively deal with criminal cases involving foreign suspects and defendants as well as not to negatively affect the diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and other countries, the legal framework for criminal procedure  of Vietnam must be timely amended and supplemented. The paper analyses the limitations of the criminal procedure law of Vietnam on investigation, accusation and trial relating to foreign suspects and defendants and offers some recommendations for law improvement in the coming time.
