The law on monitoring of law implementation in Vietnam and directions for improvement

Abstract

Mornitoring of law implementation is an important activity of state agencies in Vietnam  and the principle on ogranisation to implement this activity is provided in the Constitution.  The paper analyses the concept and features of the law on monitoring of law implementation and also points out the inadequacies and limitations of the law in this regard. On that basis, the paper offers directions for improving the law on monitoring of law implementation, accordingly, the Decree No. 59/2012/NĐ-CP dated July 23rd, 2017 on monitoring of law implementation should be amended, supplemented or replaced towards the enactment of a Law on monitoring of law implementation.
