The requirements for Vietnamese consumer protection law in digital economy

Abstract
The development of information and communication technology has led to the need to change the legal framework to effectively protect the interests of consumers. Know that consumer rights have been recognized since the 1960s. Over the years, these rights have been maintained and reinforced nationally as well as internationally. However, digital technology has changed the world, transforming the world's economy into an economy operated mainly on the basis of digital technology and digital data, bringing many opportunities and benefits to businesses as well as consumers. These changes also show that the legal framework in general and provisions on consumer protection in particular are outdated and need to be updated in order to maximize the protection of consumers' rights and interests in a new context. The article analyzes the requirements posed to the law on consumer protection in the digital economy to see more clearly the need to change the curent legal system on consumer protection.
