Society’s participation in legal dissemination and education – Good models over the world and suggestions for Vietnam

Abstract

The society’s participation in legal dissemination and education plays a crucial role in alleviating the state’s responsibility in raising the people’s legal awareness and understanding. As Vietnam has been struggling with engaging the society in such activities, studying good models around the world and identifying suitable factors that can be applied in the context of building the rule of law state in Vietnam is essential. The article first discusses the necessity and conditions for engaging the society in legal dissemination and education both in the world and especially in Vietnam. Then, based on studying prominent models of social participation in legal dissemination and education worldwide, the article proposes some suggestions aimed at improving and strengthening these activities in Vietnam.
