The law on protection of rare, endangered species of wild fauna and flora - the status quo and recommendations

Abstract

The paper analyses the current situation of the legal provisions on protection of rare, endangered species of wild fauna and flora which are overlapping and are difficult to be applicable regarding: the ways to define rare, endangered species of wild fauna and flora and levels of endangered species; and how to protect these species. Based on that, the paper offers some recommendations for improving the law on protection of rare, endangered species of wild fauna and flora such as: unifying the terms; unifying the ways to classify rare, endangered species; and amending some related legal provisions.
