Oral proceedings at some international adjudication institutions

Abstract

Dispute settlement proceduresof international adjudication institutions are complicated and the final results of dispute settlement under these procedures significantly depend on the participation of the parties in the proceedings. Oral proceedings is an important procedure as it is the final one after which the international adjudication institutions make their decisions on the dispute in question.The paper analyses the oral proceedings at the three international adjudication institutions, namely, International Court of Justice, International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, and Permanent Court of Arbitration and based on that draws experiences for Vietnam to take oral proceedings at international adjudication institutions.
