Concept, characteristics and the nature of gender reassignment

Abstract

On the basis of Article 37 of the 2015 Civil Code on gender reassignment and the issues raised in the draft Law on gender reassignment, the paper studies and assesses different viewpoints on the concept of gender reassignment, points out some characteristics of gender reassignment, defines its nature and confirms that gender reassignment is an objective need of human beings and a personal right of individuals recognised by the 2015 Civil Code.
