Concept and scope of the universality and comprehensiveness of the principle of universal suffrage under Vietnamese law

Abstract

Following the suffrage mechanism in Vietnam, universal suffrage is the primary principle, marking the democracy thanks to the universality and comprehensiveness of the election. The article analyzes the concept and scope which represent the universality and comprehensiveness of the principle of universal suffrage; the provisions on this principle under the law since 1945. It also proposes some ideas and suggestions to improve the law in order to ensure the principle of universal suffrage in Vietnam.
