The inadequacies of the law on public-private partnership investment - recommendations for improvement

Abstract

The demand for capital investment in the economy infrastructure leads to the formation and development of the public-private partnership (PPP) investment as well as the law on PPP investment. Although the Law on PPP (2020) has just taken effect from 01/01/2021, it has revealed many shortcomings. Therefore, changes and adjustments are needed to create an equal and transparent mechanism for attracting domestic and foreign investors. The article points out some main shortcomings of the law on PPP investment and offers some long-term solutions not only to change the law but also to improve the PPP investment environment in Vietnam.
