Abstract

Based on the analysis of the dialectic relation between fighting and preventing corruption crimes in the economic field, this article examines the relationship between the Penal Code, the Anti-Corruption Law and the special Laws on economic issues in fighting and preventing corruption crimes in the economic field. In this regard, the Penal Code must meet the requirements of the Anti-Corruption Law and the special Laws on economic issues in terms of criminalization of corruption activities and corruption-related activities that are of criminal nature. Following the evaluation of to what extent the criminalization meets such requirements, the article proposes some recommendations for improving the relevant provisions of the Penal Code to enhance the effectiveness of the fight to prevent corruption crimes and corruption related crimes in the economic field in the current context of Vietnam.
