Legislative drafting techniques in the 2014 Law on Marriage and Family - Current situation and recommendations

Abstract

The article analyses a number of remaining issues in the 2014 Law on Marriage and Family from a legislative drafting perspective, specifically in terms of the presentation and layout of the document and the use of language. The article highlights and analyses a number of irrelevant and illogical points in the presentation and layout techniques, as well as the inconsistent and inaccurate use of language in the 2014 Law on Marriage and Family. On that basis, the article makes recommendations on amending, supplementing, and addressing these shortcomings, aiming to ensure an effective adjustment of the 2014 Law on Marriage and Family that is easy to understand, accurate, and consistent in interpretation and application in practice.
