Abstract
During the 80 years of the Vietnamese National Assembly (1946-2026), the First National Assembly (1946-1960) stands out as a brilliant milestone of great significance, marking a leap forward in democratic institutions and opening a new stage in national development. The foundation and activities of the First National Assembly were closely associated with the immense contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, whose profound imprint can be seen in calling for the General Election, heading the Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, leading the Vietnamese revolution to victory in the resistance war against French colonial invasion, and laying the initial foundations of socialism in the North, and joining compatriots of the South in the struggle against the American imperialists for national salvation
