Educating the awareness and ideology of today's youth through Nguyen Truong To's educational reform ideology

Abstract

Nguyen Truong To (1830 - 1871) was an outstanding social reformer with a passionate patriotism. At that time, he presented to the Tu Duc court many new ideas and great strategies with practical significance. However, the Nguyen court was conservative, so his petitions were not given due attention. Today, looking back at Nguyen Truong To’s views on educational reform, we can see many viable points that can be inherited to educate the awareness and ideology of today’s youth. That is also our focus in this article.
