Abstract

In response to the growing integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in English as a Foreign
Language (EFL) education, this study investigates students’ perceptions and attitudes toward the use of
AI tools and how these tools influence learner autonomy. Grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model
(TAM) and Mitcham’s Philosophical Framework of Technology, the research adopts a mixed-methods
approach, combining survey data and semi-structured interviews with non-English majors at Vietnam
National University - International School (VNU-IS).
