Abstract
Scientifically, learner autonomy has a decisive role in studying a foreign language. In order to have a good command of a language , it is obvious that learners must acquire it themselves. However, autonomous learning is not only an individual process of self-awareness but also the one with an important role of teachers in fostering learners’ autonomy. Teachers should act as the advisors and the guides in students’ self-directed learning and control the students’ self study process with appropriate methods.
